CALM and EDGY The title for the song and album “calm and edgy” was originally the name of my facebook page where I posted poetry. It was a name that I came up randomly one day thinking about what would sound great. When we decided to name the album “calm and edgy” I started working on a song that would sound good with “calm and edgy” as the chorus, naturally at first I was stumped and had no idea what to write…Then it clicked. Literally just write what's both “calm” and “edgy.” So then I started writing what would be polar opposites. As my lyric was progressing I was unsatisfied with only listing opposites. So after a while of thinking what could make the song better it occured to me. It would be awesome if I made the lyrics have a reason for there to be opposites, such as why the world is a lovely smelling piece of trash leading to the birth of the song. CLOCK.................... The song “clock” came out of nowhere. One day I saw a facebook post asking on what was a chorus/verse and the song came by me trying to give an example. DANCE.................... I suffer from PTSD and would always think about the past and what would happen in the future. I have lots of friends that also have mental health issues. The song “Dance” came from me wanting to write a song to help encourage my friends while talking about not fearing the future for my own sake. SWEATING LOVE “Sweating love” is me attempting to write a love song. The main idea I tried to push with this is to add an anxiety element to it since I don’t like writing a love song with out some kind of twist to it. FEAR....................... Fear is a song about me getting thoughts in my head that sound like yelling. The line “all the scary faces” come from me having trouble on stopping visualizations of people looking ticked off at me. Another line “people walk on by, no one sees me, why does no one say hi” is about no one noticing what i’m going through. DROPS of COLORED LIGHTS FALLING IN JUNE .............. “Drops of colored light” came to me from back when I was in St. Pete's medical hospital for mental health problems. The song was written about how the night would look better than day but the real inspiration was that at night time I had no problems, while during the day my fear of being around people would explode. RIGHT AND WRONG from a SONG .................... “Right and wrong from a song” was originally put to a rap beat, however, after listening to some music friends on how lots of my lyrics were more pop and rock I gave up on the rap idea. That and it's a pain to find people willing to use someone else's lyrics for rap. FREE.................. “Free” was a song I tried to impress a friend with my lyrics skills. I wanted to work with him but we never texted each other so decided to send it to stephen and loved the results. find the Calm and Edgy album and Enjoy DK UPC: 195595672975 Uploaded: September 4, 2020 Release date: September 6, 2020 Calm and Edgy
